Kasun Chandana Jayathunga
Kasun was born as a Deaf person & grown in Deaf culture with hearing difficulties. In past years, as a profound deaf person he happened to study & experience the culture of the deaf community. He also learned & identify the issues and requirement of deaf community and giving his best to fulfill them.

~ Research Team ~

When it comes to sharing Buddhism through Sign Language, the one of the biggest challenge was to have the proper sign to express the exact meaning of the dhamma without just giving a regular meaning. Then the next challenge was finding such signs in our Sri Lankan Sign Language glossary as we don’t have much of them.
​We found that most of the people trying to share Buddhism through the present signs, from their level best but the results cannot be effective enough as there is not enough proper signs to express the exact idea.

~ The Bridge | The Interpreters~

Sign Language Interpreters are the bridge between Deaf & Hearing communities.  Without them it's really difficult to overcome the communication barriers.  We have one of the best as our official interpreter.  Time to time we get support from many other interpreters too.  And with the support & willingness of our official interpreter we are planning to improve this service to the deaf community!

~ The Provincial Members ~

We have 9 province in Sri Lanka.  Each province has a Deaf organization which must need attention.  "Ahanna (listen)'s main intention is to develop all these provincial organization up to the standard where whole Sri Lankan deaf community can take the benefits of it.  And in that way our effort will flow to the future with out a fail!

~ The Volunteers~

Volunteers are one of the best thing possibly happen to this world.  With their kind heart and willingness to do something better to this world, can bring the change we all seek in this world.  We too have few volunteers who gives their maximum support to move ahead successfully.  In fact this whole "Ahanna (listen)" concept is based on the volunteerism.  No one ask us to do this... but we volunteered to bring the change we needed to see!  
So, it's great to have more volunteers with us with pure intention of do something better to the world!
