And yet there is NOT a single profound deaf person obtained a higher professional qualification which serves the Sri Lankan Society!
Do you think this is enough?
Don't we have to see them in proper professional positions?
Do we have to give up on us just because we are DEAF?

~ Introducing Juki Machine Training for Deaf Youth~
Three Juki machines were donated by "Marks & Spencer" as a part of their global youth employment initiative "Marks & Start" to "Ruhunu Sumaga Circle of Deaf" Organization, Matara changed the lives of many. The project based on the asset which was about to ruin with the time brought the light of career opportunities to many deaf youth! Mr. Shabry, the compliance manager of Marks & Spencer worked on our project of a training center and the results are as follows!
"Marks & Spencer" had offered to fund an entirely new project that transformed the "Sumaga Ruhunu Circle for the Deaf" to the "Sumaga Ruhunu Apparel Training Center". With 13 new Juki machines and the financial support to hire more trainers, we managed to produce over 62 Juki machine operators in less than a year.
42 of these young people are currently employed at M&S garment factories in the South of Sri Lanka including Brandix, Nobleswear, Vortex and BAM Holdings. We didn't stop from there... We also worked with the trainees and the employers to bridge the gap in communication through sign language and
lip reading through Awareness Programs.
